Sunday

Good weather again - offering relief from yesterdays boring election.
As reported last Sunday Ian has this lovely Spacewalker and I have photographed it so all may bask in its beauty.

The 4 cylinder engine tappet covers peek out through the cowl in just the right places.

Pilot has all the right instruments for aviation

 Workmanship is top notch.

Four exhausts  to coat the underside in lots of gooey oily stuff.

NOT ONLY THAT - IT FLIES!

How about those neat con-trails, lots of them today.

Wonderful Wednesday

Weather was close to perfect and many members turned up to enjoy.
David C is tweaking the Apprentice of new member Kevin M (grandson Bodi supervising) and other newbie Terry T whose Apprentice was also treated to the same TLC. Graeme B looks on.
Both models flew and both members had hands on.
A VERY  busy pilots box indeed.
Lots of aviation was committed by all.

28 June 2016

Sunday sunny

A very nice day brought out quite a few members and a couple of visitors.
Not the best view of Ian - Ron is holding Ians new Skywalker, which he purchased from Alf Williams, who I believe is a builder of the finest scale models.  Certainly this is a superb model which I will have to photograph thoroughly.

Getting the engine to start was proving problematical.

Wiring to on-board glo looks a bit thin to me.

Two visitors dropped in, Reg and Cliff from Doncaster club.
Note the person in the background, Ben has a break from University.
Reg has recently moved to Newlands Arm, so we should be seeing a lot more of him.

Cliff bought along this nifty electric Stick....
NEAT!!

Wednesday mid June

A lovely day for flying with plenty of members and two prospective members present.

Also present was TOM!
He was in the shed.

He was getting dirty hands.

He brutally dismantled the spare thing for the tractor,

There are lots of bits which normally live in there.

OMG!
Now look what he's up to.

Oh dear....... I hope he remembers where all those bits came from and puts them back in the right place.

Wednesday

After the Mid May Muster, today the weather was warm with tiny breeze -- just wonderful.
Ken decided that it was maiden flight day for his recently completed Vought Kingfisher after only about nine years of construction from plans, (not continuous of course).

Originally a float plane, but better for Ken on wheels.

Nice detail.

Excellent dummy engine hiding an electric motor, of course.

A lovely flier, nice work Ken.

Mid May Muster

Well, alright, it was a bit breezy and not always from a nice direction, but otherwise a pleasant day as far as the weather went and the company was most excellent.

I hope the hitch-hiker doesn't fart!

Lindsay Lamonts Douglas Dauntless (pilots choice)

Maiden flight over, heartbeat slowing down.

Commiserations Mark Radburn, the model was only 9 or ten years old.
Plenty of aviation committed, but the wind caused a halt just after lunch.
We will all be back again next May!
