Pattern at SWAMPS

I pinched this comment off the Victorian Pattern Association website
check it here.

"Ben Biggs made the trip over from Bairnsdale with his new Sebart Wind S50e. He put in 4 magnificent flights to earn his second promotion point to Advanced and winning the category outright. A lot of 8’s and 9’s in those flights! I feel he has probably one more competition in Sportsman and that’s it. He’ll be making the Advanced pilots nervous there for a while."

I hope they don't mind me using it here.
WELL DONE BEN!

Comp Postponed.

Regrettably the Aerobatic Competition has been postponed to a later date for insufficient entries.

A number of competitors are at the world titles and some are reluctant to travel when poor weather may be a factor.

Brian made it clear that we always have good weather here and that they should reconsider.

The comp will be held here with our ongoing approval.

So next weekend is free for all modellers to do as you wish.

More info as it comes to hand

Getting ready for the Pattern Comp.

Yesterday, the working bee laid vinyl on the floor of the new shed, call it a "clubhouse" now, the wood heater works a treat and the charging station in the shed, 12Volt rails get a try-out.

It's all very good!

AEROBATICS WEEKEND COMING

The Victorian Pattern Association will be using our field on the weekend of 6th and 7th August 2011 so the field will be closed to other flyers between 0900 and 1600 Hrs at these dates.
(Of course weather may play a part in all this and change everything).
We will be catering for the event.
Some spectacular precision flying may be visible on those days.

LUNCH in our new shed (almost finished) well and truly 'open for business'

What a feast! Our lovely ladies and some blokes did a fine job, almost too many choices.
Wonderful! (Geoff White photo)

Muster was a great day.

OK the wind was very cold, but west to south west which means not at right angles to the strip, but mostly straight along. Mostly sunny and there were visitors from out of town which was great to see.
Thanks to generous sponsors, Addies Hobbies, Model Engines and ToyLAND Bairnsdale, there were good prizes on offer and wonderfully received.

Around 23 pilots registered with 39 models. Dave counted nearly 50 models all up.

Plenty of spectators came for a look and so we have gate-takings to bank.President Graeme with some of the pilots and friends during formalities.
Thanks to ladies operating the canteen, we could be warmed up from the inside with plenty of hot food and drinks.

MMM Underway

Here we are, models at the ready, or almost, the canteen is running.
Weather is very good.
Looking forward to a great day.

MMM Sunday Morning

Looks like it WILL be mostly sunny, cloud is breaking up now (0730).
Will be a bit breezy though. Shouldn't be too bad.
I will report again from the field.
