July Wet

A couple of photos from Graeme B taken 6th July.
Our water over Bengworden Road

Why the driveway is minus some gravel.

A lot of water out there.

Car park 'riverbed'.

Pits being a river.
Great photos, thanks Graeme.

ESC Sunday

Weather was a little better than forecast, the breeze was lighter and more westerly, so a lot friendlier for fliers.

Tweaking ?

YES, of course, tweaking.

Brians nifty Seb Art Model had been sounding very odd.
Here is the culprit.

NO, HERE is the culprit.
Yes, it looks like the old frayed-wire trick may have been involved in cooking the ESC. Look at the colour of the windings.

SNAP!

Graeme B had been ripping up the sky, when nil-response from the trans inputs was observed, fortunately the model was in a flat turn at the time and just circled gracefully to outland with only a prop tip broken.
Another lovely day at the field :)

Sizzle

Many thanks to those blokes who turned up on Sunday for the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle.
Next one is August 27 (but you knew that) and we will need more volunteers, we just scraped through last Sunday. We made a little bit more than last time, this is a very worthwhile fund-raiser, I wish more members would participate.

Lovely weather for visitors.

Lovely weather today for our visitors members of the VJAA looking to try out our top-notch field.

Nice Trainer

Bits to make it go

My mate Rob Kas took some shots of models in flight.

Everyone  I spoke to Thought our field is excellent.

Terry Thomas turned up in my next car (after I win Tatts).
My wife LOVES it :-)

Sunday

Good weather again - offering relief from yesterdays boring election.
As reported last Sunday Ian has this lovely Spacewalker and I have photographed it so all may bask in its beauty.

The 4 cylinder engine tappet covers peek out through the cowl in just the right places.

Pilot has all the right instruments for aviation

 Workmanship is top notch.

Four exhausts  to coat the underside in lots of gooey oily stuff.

NOT ONLY THAT - IT FLIES!

How about those neat con-trails, lots of them today.

Wonderful Wednesday

Weather was close to perfect and many members turned up to enjoy.
David C is tweaking the Apprentice of new member Kevin M (grandson Bodi supervising) and other newbie Terry T whose Apprentice was also treated to the same TLC. Graeme B looks on.
Both models flew and both members had hands on.
A VERY  busy pilots box indeed.
Lots of aviation was committed by all.

28 June 2016

Sunday sunny

A very nice day brought out quite a few members and a couple of visitors.
Not the best view of Ian - Ron is holding Ians new Skywalker, which he purchased from Alf Williams, who I believe is a builder of the finest scale models.  Certainly this is a superb model which I will have to photograph thoroughly.

Getting the engine to start was proving problematical.

Wiring to on-board glo looks a bit thin to me.

Two visitors dropped in, Reg and Cliff from Doncaster club.
Note the person in the background, Ben has a break from University.
Reg has recently moved to Newlands Arm, so we should be seeing a lot more of him.

Cliff bought along this nifty electric Stick....
NEAT!!
