Warbirds Over Bairnsdale

November 4 and 5 for 2023, long weekend for Melbourne Cup on 7th. weather not the best, rather windy, some showers on Saturday.

Wind was pretty much due East, so straight down the runway all weekend.

 Twenty nine pilots registered, a great turnout.

Pictures and stuff, in no particular order, (too hard) even a few short videos thanks to Rob B and his DJI drone.

 

 

2 out of 3 aint bad, Ian R landing his Tucano on 2 wheels.

A great weekend, many thanks to all the team for getting the field in such fabulous condition and everyone who helped in the kitchen creating excellent food.

Warbirds coming

November already

 First, Wednesday:

Driving into the field today I looked at the Winjeel on the pole and thought that the prop is spinning so fast it's invisible, amazing!

Later, this is what I saw.......

Okay, the prop is back on, hopefully it will rotate in the wind visibly now.

Landmark

 Wednesday 27th saw many hands making light work of erecting a new landmark and possible tourist attraction at the field.

August Already!

 Yes it's August and we are still here, the weekend 11th to 13th, we had an influx of associate members with a few nifty models to fly.

Looking good.

Unfortunately met it's demise on Sunday.

Look what I found securely tied to the shelter superstructure.

Oh boy! Twin carbs!

NOTE, electric starter.....how civilised!

Nice winter weather for the campers. A good weekend all round.

 Well, whatever that means.

Actually, it means  'International Miniature Aerobatic Club' administered in Australia by

they had the use of our field for the weekend, while we provided the immaculate field and food.

Sadness

 But HAPPY!

Our wonderful hobby shop, "ToyLand" in Bairnsdale has closed, Ian and Jill are retiring after many years in the Nicholson Mall.

We wish them a warm, comfortable, well deserved and safe retirement.

Many thanks to you both from all your customers over the years, you will be missed.
