Rc airshow Sandown 2016

There was much nail-biting as regards the weather prior to Sunday 31 January 2016 and as it turned out the weather was not too bad. Gusty wind blowing, however unlike last year it was almost straight along the "runway".
 
 People came in droves from far and wide.

The number of exhibits was very disapointing, however the tank fighters were back still doing battle.

VARMS Club did it again with lovely models of all sizes to look at.

 Model Engines had a great display of their product range

A most interesting model which apparently flies well.

Very drool-worthy.

The flying displays were well organised, but the deafening 'music' played as each model flew was diabolical, couldn't hear the models until the jet guys had the 'music' turned off, so that they could hear their models.
The powers took the hint and in the afternoon show, allowed the announcer to talk about the models during the flights.
The crowd reactions in the grandstand to various manouvres and heart-stopping approach-and-landings was good to hear, great involvement.
I was pleased to bump into two other of our members, specially David F visiting with his grand-kids and David C helping Mr Murphy and his racers.

2016 Sunday Two

Great weather brought out 15 members today and good flying was had by all.

 Ok, there was a bit of a breeze, but mostly in a good direction.

End of a Good Year

Wednesday 30th saw a very good attendance of members at the field for the last official fly day of 2015.
 

 Cameron was enjoying his first day back flying after his excellent holiday.

This model flies exceptionally well with great longevity for 4 motors running.

 Brian brought out his refurbished Spitfire, looking good with new paint.

Her didn't fly it though.
His 'Walrus' required his attention as it wanted to get back in the air.

And get back in the air it did, big time ...... Twice.

Christmas

Christmas Dinner

This year the venue was Bairnsdale Bowls Club "Krakkerjack Bistro"

A good turn-up.

 Brian did it yet again with his brain-teasers.
All agreed it was a very good night and the Bistro did a great job of the meals.
 

Sunday

Ten of us turned up today to enjoy very nice conditions indeed.

Lin and Ian W flew well.

 A most pleasant morning.

Wednesday

After the wind stiffened, the blokes decided it was time to get nibbling and farewell Trevor on his way to live in Queensland.
 

 Farewell, hope you don't get cooked, it's HOT up there.
